In the last couple years I’ve had the great opportunity to work with guitarist/composer Kirk Casey whom I met while acting in a Marin County Vistor’s Bureau short promo film which Kirk wrote the musical score. We started out writing for TV together, something we both do on our own as well. And decided with all this music we were making, that we should take it further and explore a new sound around my singing and  acoustic roots on mandolin and his electric rock fusion guitar. We’ve got 17 songs recorded and our ‘live’ show is taking off!

”Deep Blue Jam” band featuring Lorin Rowan & co-founder/ co-writer Kirk Casey’s original songwriting-mandolin/guitar based Americana “Bluezgrass”-Roots/Rock/Funk fusion with fellow band members, Eric McCann/bass and Matt Willis/drums & Kenneth Nash/percussion, all of whom have played with a wide variety of  virtuoso musicians from Vince Herman (Leftover Salmon), Phil Lesh, David Grisman, Jerry Garcia, Levon Helm, Bill Kreutzman, Jim Keltner, Steve Cropper, Clarence Clemmons, Bonnie Raitt, The Drifters and many others.

Over the years, I’ve had the great opportunity to share the stage as well as well as  perform with some phenomenal musicians. And these two guys are virtuosos in their own right; Barry Sless on pedal steel guitar and Doug Harman on cello. We’ve created a space to strive for magical improvisational moments in our music together to touch ours and listeners’ inner soul.

“Progessive Americana”,singer/songwrite, finger pickin’ acoustic roots in folk/rock and world music, with Barry Sless, steel guitar extraordinaire, (Phil Lesh & Friends, David Nelson Band ); and cellist virtuoso, Doug Harman (Norton Buffalo, Alex DeGrassi, Susan Cianni) Cutting-edge instrumentation highlighting ‘outside-the-box’ improvisations, creating a fresh, exciting sound with powerful melodies, intriguing lyrics, and dazzling instrumental interludes.
